The Nelson Pilot’s Association would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to Airshow Nelson 2014. This year an outstanding line-up of events has been planned including a full air show agenda featuring more than 40 aircraft and 8 high performance air show acts including: Bill Carter and his Pitts Bi-plane performing a high energy aerobatic routine, Paul Hajduk’s graceful aerobatics in a non-powered sail plane, John Mrazek Airshows flying a classic Harvard powered by a radial engine, and introducing Phil Symmans’ world renowned – spectacular monster Pitts model 12 Airshow Other performers will include classic and antique aircraft and a special appearance by Faith, Hope and Charity Airshow’s classic Stearman Biplane.
Static displays of front line Canadian Military aircraft, and for the first time ever a high speed Air Race reminiscent of the Golden Age of Aviation! Nelson’s Airshow will be held this year on August 2, 2014. This event draws more than 3000 people to our airport. Air shows have become the #1 growing spectator sport event in Canada. While in Nelson, both visitors and attendees will be using the various services offered by our local businesses. Taxis, hotels, motels, restaurants, gas stations as well as local retail shops all stand to benefit during this event.
The Nelson Pilots Association has more than 35 volunteers working to put this event together for all to enjoy. Although this event is free (admission is by donation), we are asking for your financial contribution to help off-set the expenses of bringing in some of these very unique and historical aircraft. A financial commitment from you will ensure that this event will once again be a great success. You will have your business promoted during the event with a large banner showing your company name prominently displayed during the air show as well as numerous mentions in print and radio and public address announcements during the event.
